In Ruth Beam’s Footsteps
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I, I will be here

If in the dark we lose sight of love
Hold my hand and have no fear
Cause I, I will be here

I will be here, when you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind, I will listen
And I will be here,
When the laughter turns to cryin
Through the winning, losing and trying, we'll be together,
Cause I will be here

Tomorrow morning if you wake up,
And the future is unclear
I, I will be here

As sure as seasons are made for change,
Our lifetimes are made for years
So I, I will be here

I will be here, and you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells you we're older,
I will hold you
And I will be here, to watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made
To you, and to the one who gave you to me.

As sure as seasons are made for change,
Our lifetimes are made for years
So I, I will be here (We'll be together)
I will be here

DO WE NEED A CLUB MOTTO

My love affair with the Pomeranian began when I was sixteen and grew out of a school project.  I
knew that someday I wanted to own one, however, finding one of the charming but elusive little
creatures was no simple matter.  I was married and children when I chanced upon an article in a
magazine that listed the names and addresses of several breeders, one of whom was Ruth Beam.
Promptly, I sent letters to all, but only one  responded - you know who --  Ruth Beam!  Now, to sing
the praises of Ruth once again, seems a little redundant when you think of all the honors and praises
that have deservedly come her way. Our treasurer, Lance Bryson, made a comment at our June
meeting that impressed me.
"The first name in Poms is 'Great',. The second is 'Elms'. Ruth Beam is the Grand Lady of Poms. After
all her big wins, she still comes to our club meetings and treats us like we're important people."
That's the spirit of Ruth Beam. No one is too small or unimportant for her to pay attention to them,
treat them fairly and encourage them even tho' they will probably become her competitors some day. I
know that, because she has certainly been a mentor for me.  Could we all follow in Ruth's footsteps
and pass along her spirit to each other, new members, and prospective Pom fanciers?  When dealing
with each other let our motto be "In Ruth Beam's Footsteps".
